Hellerwork is a system of bodywork
based on the work of Ida Rolf, and adding elements of manipulation
and movement therapy.
It is based on the principle that by
re-balancing the human structure within gravity and freeing ones
natural movement an individual's innate wholeness is revealed.
It is designed to re-align and the body
systematically. Its aim is to prevent rather than treat health conditions.
It is, however, extremely useful for treating headaches,
musculo-skeletal pain, stress
and nervous disorders.
Clients often experience improved posture,
more freedom, balance and energy in day-to-day life, relief from
aches and pains, plus a deeper quality of relaxation.
Treatments consist of 11 one-and-a-half
hour sessions, in which dialogue between practitioner and patient
plays an important part. Bodywork usually accounts for 60 minutes
of a 1 1/2 hour session.
