Motor Neurone Disease

Motor Neurone Disease (MND) is caused by the degeneration of the nerves in the Central Nervous System.

It is characterised by weakness and wasting of the muscles, leading to uncontrolled muscle spasms and stiffness. Ultimately breathing and swallowing are affected.

Some alternative therapies can help to reduce disability - although nerve degeneration cannot be controlled.

Although some people live much longer, it is commonly fatal within 2-4 years.

Tip: nutritional supplementation has proved to be a great help in MND - especially Vitamin B12 and the antioxidant nutrients Vitamins A,C,E and Selenium and Zinc.

Treatments:

Acupuncture, Hydrotherapy, Massage, Nutritional Therapy, Osteopathy, Thai Yoga Massage, Shiatsu, T'ai Chi, Yoga.

You are recommended to seek advice of a qualified health practitioner. To find a qualified practitioner in your area look in the Practitioner Directory.
