Hypothyroidism
Hypothyroidism is underactivity
of the thyroid, a gland which is in the neck and produces Thyroxine
which regulates metabolism.
The symptoms include lack of energy,
muscle weakness, weight gain, and persistent infections. Sufferers
may also feel the cold, have a hoarse voice, rough skin and constipation.
Treatment involves raising the levels of Thyroxine.
