Eczema

Eczema is a common reaction of the skin to a wide range of irritants and allergies. Symptoms include reddening, itching, blistering and oozing.

In severe cases the skin thickens into scabs. Atopic Eczema the most common form, frequently occurs in children and can run in the family. It is often associated with hay fever and asthma.

Contact Eczema also known as contact dermatitis is a localised and temporary allergic response to an irritant.

Seborrhoeic Eczema tends to occur when there is an overproduction of the skin's natural oils.

Tip: diluted essential oils of lavender, bergamot and geranium on the skin may help to relieve itching and inflammation. Dilute with almond oil or sesame oil.
