Cold Sores
Cold Sores are caused by the
infectious virus herpes simplex. Cold Sores appear around
the mouth, passed on by kissing when the Cold Sore is active.
They can also occur in the genital area and are generally passed
on through sexual contact. After the initial infection, the virus
becomes dormant and re-occurs after minor infections, trauma, stress,
poor dietary habits and sun exposure.
Tip: Lysine, an amino acid, is
an excellent treatment for cold sores - it seems to have an effect
on dismantling the herpes virus.
