Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Prolonged fatigue can be a symptom of
a number of conditions, including anaemia, depression, chronic infection,
candida, auto-immune disorders and cancer.
For some kinds of extreme fatigue, however,
no apparent cause can be found, even though the problem may persist
for years.
This increasingly common condition has
acquired various names, although the most generally accepted is
"chronic fatigue syndrome". It is also known as ME
in the UK.
Although some doctors still dismiss
it as "all in the mind" it is generally recognised as a debilitating
and very real condition.
Complementary practitioners are more
ready to look beyond the symptoms for possible and psychological
contributing factors.
Tip: look at a way of delegating
responsibility, get plenty of rest and do not try to do too much.
Take some gentle exercise such as walking or swimming to release
endorphins.
