Incontinence
Incontinence is defined as the
involuntary loss of urine, from slight leaking to total loss of
bladder control.
There are different types of Incontinence
- Stress Incontinence occurs when coughing, sneezing, laughing
or any other sudden movements cause weakened muscles to allow the
escape of small amounts of urine.
Urge Incontinence is often caused
by a bladder infection - it is an overwhelming need to urinate proceeded
by a complete emptying of the bladder.
Overflow Incontinence occurs
when some kind of blockage eg. an enlarged prostate gland stops
normal flow.
There are various kinds of treatments
for Incontinence ranging from antibiotics for infection,
to learning pelvic floor exercises for Stress Incontinence.
