Headaches and Migraines
Headaches can range in severity
from a dull thudding in the temples when you are tired or anxious
to a frightening, intense pain. They may be triggered by lifestyle
factors, musculo-skeletal disorders or stress, and it is important
to find and remedy the underlying causes.
Migraines affect at least one
person in ten, and are far more disabling than Headaches.
They are often confined to one side of the head, and may be preceded
or accompanied by visual disturbances eg. flashing lights or hallucinatory
auras, pins and needles, nausea and sensitivity to odours, light
or noise.
Migraines tend to run in families
and can be triggered by the same factors that cause headaches or
by sensitivity to particular substances.
Tip: try to get plenty of fresh
air, exercise and sleep, eat sensibly and avoid caffeine. Learn
a relaxation exercise or stress management technique.
The following treatments can be used
to treat both Headaches and Migraines:
Aromatherapy,
Homeopathy,
Acupuncture.
You
are recommended to seek advice of a qualified health practitioner. To find a qualified
